Hey Christopher,

haha....nah. GPC is kind of random addition from when I chose my first screenname and I just keep using it. I am actually graduating from Dental school in May and will be heading to Virginia for a 3yr. residency to specialize in Periodontics.
And...lol...it looks like I will be keeping it. Not too much interest. It really is a beautiful piece of furniture. It's one of the few things that makes my family understand why I like these animals.

If you click on the link I posted before (www.southernboids.com/Habitat.htm) it will give you a pretty detailed description of the unit. It is actually about 5' wide x 2' deep x 7' tall. It is on wheels so it easily rolls wherever you want to put it. The bottom ~1/3 of the inside of the cage is coated with a thick waterproof rubber-like coating. There is a pump which runs the water through a carbon filter and then down the waterfall.
As far as water as a substrate being a good/bad idea, it is rather subjective. I don't use it for my regular caging but some breeders like Tony Nicoli (one of the pioneers of chondro and etb breeding) swear by it. I use the cage as a "snake vacation" where I rotate my snakes in it for a week or two at a time for them to stretch out and explore. From what I understand, water as a substrate is good because it maintains humidity, and provides easy access for the animal to find drinking water; but is tedious because it must be changed quickly and cleaned completely when the animal defecates in it. The cage has a built in drain pump so changing water is super easy.
