I was driving home from work today...late because of a bad accident that made me take a long detour...when I saw a snake going across the road. Once it
straightened out I knew what it was...a Canebrake Rattlesnake!!! Locked up the brakes and pulled over...jumped out of the car with my snakehook and ran back
up the road. The beauty was just getting into the grass when I ran over. It was a big fat animal...possibly a gravid girl. Around 3.5-4 ft. She just laid
there outstretched for a bit. I snapped a couple of pictures on my cell phone and then she took a half-hearted swipe at me as I moved around her. She coiled
and rattled for a bit. I moved her over a little with my snakehook and prodded her in the direction of a grassy culvert. She slowly headed that way and then
took off like a shot! What a cool find! If I could get the stupid pictures off my camera I'd post them. I don't have the ability to e-mail them to my
computer....Is there any other way to get them downloaded? There were only two, but I'd love to show her off....Except for the single half-hearted strike
at me, she never offered to do so again. Even when I used the hook to turn her head around to get her away from the road.

Hey Meg - It's hard to say how best to get them to your PC. Each cell phone company seems to do it in a different way. If you'd like I'll PM you my
cell number and you can message them to me. I'll be able to get them off my phone and load them up.

Always have the snake hook. Don't leave home without it! Kathy is going to send them to me once I text them to her. Probably do that tomorrow, so stand by.
I'm not sure how nice they are, but you should get the picture.

Thanks to Cathy Maynard and her friend...she e-mailed me the pictures. Here they are. Not too beautiful as it's the camera phone, but I think you can see
her.
Here is one that I took with the digital camera at a property we almost bought here in S.Carolina. I'm still sad that the sale didn't work out for us.

I wish I'd taken more pictures to be honest, but I was sort of caught up in the moment and got more busy moving her to safer spots than taking a photo. It
would have been neat to have one with the snakehook to give perspective. She was pretty big.
