Looks like a winner! What's with the extra in the bottom? Do you switch off if one falls? Sort of a pinch hitter pinky deal

I know a lot of my babies tended to at first grab and coil, but then just hold the pinky with no intent of eating it. I will then offer another pinky, which
they will usually take, causing the original pinky in their coils to drop to the floor. At least that's how I always end up with extra pinkies at the
bottim of the cages during feeding times.

megf42..i do whatever it takes to get the babies to eat,always remember pinky mice are not a natural food source for baby chondros..so i try un-scented
live,scented live,un-scented ft,scented ft and scent with everything 'cept my socks cuz peta would be on my case for cruel+unusual punishment...and if all
else fails there is always this.......
that changes their attitudes real quick!!! my way or the indigo way...your choice!! |

I can honestly say I've never had a $500 dinner.
I think it's great that your stillborns or SCDS (sudden chondro death syndrome) animals are going to the food chain. In some sort of sick way (or natural way, take your choice of words) it's good to see that their tiny lives weren't in vain... they're still helping. Beautiful red baby up there.

well folks indigos are much like chondros...they can be difficult to get feeding...but they will always take a snake,so if there is a baby whatever that is
going into the freezer it will be processed to the indigos. we hatched out 29 baby eastern indigos last year(2007) and we had 1 that refused everything except
snakes. we tried every trick in the book+then some and nothing for almost 7 months then all of a sudden BOOM it took scented fuzzy mices(scented with snakes)
and now this majestic beast is taking un-scented fuzzies. i don't think i need to state that these feeders snakes are doomed or doa,but just to asure the
un-initiated...they are dead(chondros that is) and yes i have a sense of humour,how else do you get thru the day....

i think that it is cool that indigo's eat rattlesnakes in the wild, and the venom has no affect on them what so ever

and indigos eat kingsnakes,or so i am told also i would like to add that eastern indigos are a federally protected species and cannot be legally imported or exported into the usa from anywere,so please everyone do not ask me to send any to you. i dearly would love to but the laws need to be changed 1st,no pants pocket express from me,sorry |
