Hi Bart,

First, treat it like it does actually have something and don't spread it around. That is, separate tools, care for last and maybe sterilize the tub or anything near it.
Second, maybe ease up on feeding for a while as digestion is taxing.
Third, try to have the body temp hit 87+ if you are not already (I mean this with a night time drop too. I use a 7-12 NTD and the critters routinely hit 88-91+.)
4) An imminent shed can be seen on even a yellow snake if one looks carefully at a group of scales and notes the clear veneer extending past the underlying scale(s).
5) A wheeze can, and often is, be right at the opening of the glottis so open the mouth with a speculum or credit card and look for debris or inflammation. I would clear the nasal passages while you're in there too. Recently, I was checking out a snake just for giggles and damn if one of the passages was completely block with puss. Turns out a tooth was lodged in there.
6) If the problem persists after the shed or gets worse rapidly, get a culture run and treat. You may want to run the dosage/frequency by this forum because a lot of vets kinda suck at it believe it or not.
