That is not the bug I was referring to in your post. Interesting. Never seen anything like it. It does appear to be an insect and not a mite; therefore, I
would think it is harmless to your animals but I can understand it being bothersome none the less.

Without a doubt, it's from the order Collembola (springtail). They come in different shapes and sizes, but look of the one in the photo you sent is
pretty typical for a number of species. We cultured them for the dart frogs at the National Aquarium. They are harmless to your snakes. Dart frog breeders
