hi,
well I introduced my arus together Nov 1. They were paired up for about a month with mutiple insertions through out the month staying locked together
for 48 hours.I took the male out Dec 7.She shed and defacated on the Dec 25.Since then the female has been very hungry( eating more then
ever before ),very irritable,seems lighter in colour, has been gaining lots of weight not defacating.She's still eating as of March 1. Does This
seem like a long time for a chondro to be rippening foliciles ?

Hi Brett- I think you pulled your male too soon. I don't pull the male until after the prelay shed, LOL. Most females go off food around the time of
ovulation. In my limited experiance as long as she is still eating, she isn't gravid. I put 2 pair together last year in Sept. and didn't get eggs
until July. This year I put a pair together Nov. 27, she ovulated Dec. 26, prelay Jan.26 and laid eggs Feb.10. How long has it been since she defecated? You
may want to soak her and check to see that she doesn't have a urate plug. If your worried, maybe a trip to the vet is in order.

I have to tend to agree with robin here. Next time around, I'd keep the male in there till he shows no more interest in her, or vice versa.
