I was getting a little nervous because my Gorgon usually strikes in a matter of sheer split seconds when it is feeding time. It got a little over the normal
feeding time which is usually about once a week. Several days ago I noticed my chondro was getting a little lazy in the home and not moving around much at
night. Me & my gf recently moved and put the snake cage in the master bedroom so it could be peaceful and left alone but the last two times I fed here the
snake struck like lightning and made it stick everytime in seconds. But a few days ago when I tried to feed the snake was sleeping. I kept peskering her over
and over again and she struck twice but both times I dropped the meal in the water bowl and after a few more attempts I finally gave up and decided to give it
a few more days so as not to stress the snake. I knew the snake was due to shed but wasn't quite sure if that was the reason.
So about an hour ago I took the Gorgon out of the cage to try and induce some movement. The snake seemed fine and glad to get out of the cage ( I don't take him out that more than once a week or two lately). He coiled onto the lawn chair in the front of my house and I wasn't sure if he would come off but I am getting used to handling him more and more as he gets big and he came off eventually with a little gentle persuasion. The snake seems fine and has good weight so after I finally mananged to persuade her off the chair I put her back in the cage. I sprayed the hell out of the cage to increase the moisture and 15 minutes later she shed a perfect shed. I couldn't be happier now. The timing was very strange and perfect. The snake recently took a dump about a week ago but it was feeding time and she seems totally disinterested. I had a feeling it was because of the impending shed. Now the snake is shiny and bright and Iam going to feed right away either tonight or tomorrow.
