Joao, I went back and forth on the heat. What you see there is heat rope running in a dado in the PVC and covered by a strip of aluminum tape over the top. Originally, I had intended to use individual strips of Industrial Heat Trace cable in a dado on each shelf but it wasn't sufficient heat so I had to rethink the whole thing. I don't like heat tape at all. I think it's cheap crap. Although, I ordered 35' from bean farm anyway just to look at the options.(anyone want to buy 35' of heat crap... I mean heat tape?)
I have never dealt with back heat but it strikes me as being inefficient and so I usually lean towards belly heat . It would have been a lot easier design-wise to go with back heat.

The heat was a workaround, for sure. It's the only thing that isn't sitting well with me at the moment. The heat system could change... I'm still messing around with it.

The cage dimension are 27"high x 30"wide x 20"Deep. The enclosures with dividers are used for subadults mostly.

The cages are made of PVC... the 3 displays are 2 herpstat pro's and the middle is called a light-wave. Used mainly on reef tanks, I am using it to control the lights and other functions. I intend to start using the moonlighting circuit on this unit. I don't think enough (any)weight is given to chondros and moonlighting. Many animals use the phases of the moon, in part, to time their breeding. I think this applies to many nocturnal animals and feel that chondros will benefit from it with regard to breeding.

The split cages share a 40w Pro-Products heat panel... the heat panel is divided down the center by the cage divider.

The shelves are literally floating... meaning, they are resting on the tops of the tubs below. To adjust them up or down, just slide in taller or shorter tubs. I may tack-weld them into place once I decide on the final configuration but that weld could easily be broken to allow the shelves to float again.
