Biak and Biak OC Color Change - Revisited |
Lead | |
|
There has been some good discussions lately on the drawn out changes that biaks and biak OC's go through. What I'd love to see is more
"before" "during" and "after" changing pics of these animals as they go through this process. So if you've got some, get
em' up here. Greg Stephen's biak OC clutch of a few years back comes to mind right away.
Thanks
David

In my experience it is not so much of a complete change as it is changing all the time. One of mine has dorsal markings one day and not again for 6 months then
they come back even bolder. And on the same animal, his green is lime sometimes and dark green other times. It just never seems to stop changing. It's
always going back and forth.

I have a few Biaks and OCs but I will go one at a time until I get sick of loading photos onto photobucket:)
I'll start with Watermelon... my Hance Biak x Highland '05 female. Her clutch with Blue Deuce just recently hatched at the barn: ![]() ![]() ![]()

Here are some pics of a Greg Stephens Biak OC production that I believe qualifies:
Family Tree Pic (scan of the document Greg provided with the chondro). Mine is GS-04-01: When I purchased it from Greg (Hamburg show, August of 2005) it had taken on more of a chocolate brown color. A short while later it started to turn orange(ish). I have one image of it in its chocolate brown color but I can't get at it at the moment so can't post it. Here is a pic after it changed from its chocolate brown color to more of a pale orange color:

Very Nice Stu!
This is Zorro. A Biak male that I picked up a few years ago as a juvie... He's been hanging on to the black neonate pattern for a few years now. I don't have a neo pic. ![]() ![]()

This is Apache. A Rico Walder Biak-'05 model. I just picked this guy up from an MVFer. I'm really excited about this guy. I believe
Rico is repeating this pairing this year for those that like him. I believe Brandon has a HY sib, and Robin Saunders has a beautiful sib, Genesis.
Definitely a winning clutch. Well done, Rico!!

This Male Arubiak I picked up from Shane Snyder a few years back. Like all Bushmaster Arubiaks, he is said to be sib to Shane's Whiteout: He has
a beautiful pastel coloration and is gaining lots of white. He's about 3 and not finished the change.

This is Indian. Named after Angel Morales(the breeder) who is actually "The Indian" in The Village People and a great guy. This guy is
"Mr. August" in the 2009 chondro calendar. He's an '07 Wameniak. Looks like he may hold some nice yellow. Clearly, he has lots of
changing left.

Greg-
First: I was wondering if you could tell me the age of #4 in the eighth picture that you have posted of him (the one right under the first pic of number eight). Second: You take the nicest damn pics. Top notch my friend.

Oscar- You have way too many hot HY males over there. Wish I had a second female. And I love all the white flowers on that kid.
Thanks to everybody for their contributions to this thread.
