the breaker going to my rodent freezer tripped, thawing all of my rats and mice, can they be refrozen, or should I discard all and start with fresh ones??

Trash them. Meat should never be refrozen.

I guess that would depend on whether they were/are still chilled and for how long... if they reached thaw for a couple hours, not a biggie... if they were 70
degrees for 24 hours, different story.
I've had rats in my car thaw out from Hamburg, and refroze, and wasn't a problem... but that was only a matter of maybe 10-12 hours, and they were thawed, but still very cold. |

If they completely thawed I would throw them out. Refreezing meat of any kind can cause an explosion in growth of harmful bacteria. One trip to the vet for one
sick snake would probably cost more than the rodents in your freezer. Why risk it?

my freezers have always been deep "freezes", so the couple of times they have gone, out, even for close to 24 hours, the rodents are usually still
rock hard or pretty close. i say if you have any bit of doubt, throw them out.

That happened to me about 6 months ago and I lost a freezer full of every size of rodent, plus chicks and quail.
