I know I have seen this topic before but I can't find it so I'm seeking some info on what people feel is the best
disinfectant to use. If it needs to diluted what ratio is used? Thanks Howie |

I have used both nolvasan solution and quatricide and found both to work well. Our wildlife facility uses the Quatricide. Normally fill 1/8 solution to water
in the spray bottle. Both solutions need to sit on the intended surfact for a few minutes to really work.

Nolvasan (Chlorhexidine) is great. It can be used full strength for cleaning and can even be used diluted to clean injuries including those in the mouth. Love
the stuff. A diluted bleach solution is also usable but make sure it's well rinsed.

I use virosan (the same thing as nolvasan) every time I clean a cage. I buy a 1 gallon jug from a farm supply store online for 32 bucks. It will last a very
long time. I just threw out a bottle that wasn't completely used because the 2 year expiration date had passed. I use a diluted mixture to clean each week.
I also use a heavier concentration about once a month where I spray it on and let is sit for a longer period of time. It seems to work just fine. I cant see
any bacteria so I am assuming its working
