We get them in captivity, parasite free, eating the most nourished food product available (home fed rats that are fat as hell), try to get them to a certain weight to reproduce quickly because there is a certain weight that is defined as the correct weight for breeding.
I just cant see GTPs in nature dying of prolapse, clogged intestines, and being such a !%%*% species, and still having a viable breeding population also considering that the hatch rate and juvenile survival rate should be lower. They manage out there.
