I started my day out relocating this fat sucker from my yard to a creek area a few miles away. Has he been eating good or what? When I grabbed him behind his
head it was a battle just to keep my grip. Man, he was strong! This is a crappy pic, but I swear his girth was as big as a small grapefruit.

Canebrake or Timber rattler, depending upon who you talk to. Some call it the same species, others say it is a subspecies. I came across a beautiful gravid
female crossing the road and had posted a few pictures here a while back. I wouldn't grab it though. Used a snake hook to move her. Too risky and very
stressful for the snake to pin the head.
