That kills me and she's not even mine.... I had two yearlings that started acting very strangely over a year ago. They started getting really lethargic and went off perch, which was definitely out of the ordinary for these two. When they did perch they hung loosley as Skylar is doing. It was weird because in the beginning it was like they had good and bad days but knowing their personalities I still knew something wasn't quite right. I hadn't reached the point of being overly concerned but I was definitely keeping them on watch. After about 2 weeks of the first symptoms appearing, their symptoms grew progressively worse, they went off feed, and they both began to look really bloated or swollen all over, particularly around their heads. It was then I remember Greg Maxwell's encounter with kindney stress in some of his clutches displaying similar symptoms. The same day I was making a vet appointment, I received our quarterly water report in the mail (I'm on city water) and there it was in black and white. The city had increased chlorine levels (and God knows what else) the past month due to an Ecoli scare. I immediately went to my local Walmart and invested in a couple of those Pur water filters you mount on the tap and changed out all my cage's drinking bowls. I also changed out the water in my sprayer. Within two days all symptoms cleared up and to this day I only offer filtered water to my critters. I've kept ball pythons for two decades with no problem ever and my other chondros weren't affected either. It was just those two.
