Here's a pic of us that was taken a year ago. I'm 6'1" for reference. Sorry the photo is so washed out but he has tons of blue and white all over the place.

Giant Males? |
Lead | |

I only have experience with my two Aru-type animals but I've always heard most adult males top out at around 7-800 grams? I have a 6 year-old male
produced by Chris Rouille that when I last weighed him, 6+ months ago, was 1875 grams. How often do males get this large? Would anyone like to share photos
of similar sized males? Also, I've been really wanting to breed this guy but figure I'm going to have to wait until 2009 for my female to be ready so
if anyone is interested in a breeding loan let me know....

Thanks very much. I've always thought he was so gorgeous, I'm always in awe of him but coming to the realization that males don't usually get that
big has been pretty cool too.

Dude, Seriously loan him out to someone with a huge female, that would be really interesting.
Edit - Since we are on the subject of big chondros. It's not a male but I have a 10- 11 month old Jaya type female that is well over 2.5 feet long already. She is on an adult mouse a week. I have a feeling she is gonna be a big one also. Definetly a big Jaya. I can't wait to see how big she gets.

OK, I saw this boy in person at the show this weekend...... and probed him just to make sure. Let me tell you, when Kent pulled that boy out of the bag I would
have bet a LOT that I was looking at a girl. He is an incredible boy with a lot of white and blue and one of the nicer ones I've seen from Roullies lines
too.
Definitely need to find a great girl for him!! Not a petite one either!! |

Very nice male you've got there. Mr. Morris' ginormous aru female comes to mind .....
If my aru wasn't already paired up for next season I might be into it

This is Ted Striker. He's not as big as that one, but he weighed in at 1500 grams last fall before a hunger strike. He's 5 years old now and hitting
the prey with gusto again, shedding every two months or so, so I assume he's still growing. His sheds always have sperm plugs.
I was going to pair him with my female Biak in 2009, but she's so much smaller than him with no chance of catching up in size by then. Assuming she'll be over 1000 grams by then (and she'll be over 4 years too), will it be safe to put her with a male that's so much larger than she is?

He really is a big, beautiful boy! I enjoyed seeing him at the show - his size is truly impressive in person!

Wow! That is insane. I don't even have females that large. What's in the water out there?

Like Sony said, I've got a 02 Lemontree that's between 1450-1650 depending on whether he's on feed or not.
I'm not at my own computer, so I'll try to get a good pic up soon. Paul Redelfs |
