The Hudson Never Pump Sprayer!!! Plug it in, charge up the battery, and spray away for up to ten hours! Holds four gallons and is really easy to clean.

My Blue Point Infared Temp Gun, Oakton Thermocouple, and my Cooper Hydrometer/Thermometer. Keepings temps couldn't be easier!!

My Hemostats! If I had a $1 for every rodent fed from these over the years I could buy Kathy's "Barsi"!

The little Ohaus, weighing hatchlings one bite at a time!!!

The Helix Temp controller still one of the best offered to us!!

The Neodesha Arboreal, some love them some hate them! I love them, they have brought me years of success with many different species of reptiles!!!

I am curious as to what others find as their favorite pieces of equipment let us see what you like!!!

Cool thread, thanks for sharing. I'm a "gear head" and I think getting all the equipment and "toys" is almost as fun as getting the animals

Mine are all real similar, the 18" and 8" tongs, the digital scale, the Helix's, and the pump action sprayer(Might need to look into what you have). I also really like my little "desk" on casters in my snake room, makes feeding and cleaning so much easier.

Jurgen,

Thanks for the spelling correction on Kathy's name, it was late when I posted this. The sprayer never has to be pumped that is correct. Powered by a motor with a rechargeable battery, has reduced my spraying time by a lot.

I have been through many models of this style of cage since 1990, it really is to bad that the company is not still around, the owner Ted is a great guy.

I really like those cages. Any close-up of a single cage? You use pvc as a perch, np as a substrate, and pothos as greenery?

Yes to all of questions. I have never had an issue with plain old pvc and I usually provide a smaller piece or two for additional climbing and perching. Years ago I was a substrate man but I found it made me a lazy keeper as well as running the risk of the snakes ingesting or worse yet getting pieces stuck in their mouths. I now use news paper which forces me to thoroughly clean after each defecation instead of removing a handful of dirty mulch like I use to. Pothos are key to helping with humidity levels, fresh oxygen, and security for the animals (after all these are snakes that spend their whole lives amongst live plants it is the least we can do). I also provide a natural light cycle using full spectrum bulbs as my heat source. No close ups but I will get a shot today and try and post it.

Ya know, I'm a mulch guy myself but I've been thinking about changing that. I keep runing things through my mind and the only reason I can justify using mulch is for cosmetic appeal. It's a pain to clean, makes a mess everywhere, gets stuck in the runners on my cages, and I stress everytime one of my animals wraps food up on the ground. The mulch sticks to the thawed rodents and I've personally seen one of my males swallow some. I kept checking the cage for the next week. Although I know the injest substrates in the wild, it's one more thing I have to worry about.

My perches are crape merdle branches. I really like the texture and look. Plastic in the neo cages.

As far as plants, I'v e been using fake plants but they seem to dry out and loose color after several mistings. I've been thinking of switching to pothos for the very same reasons you mentioned.

This is a great post because it's solidifies a lot of the concerns I've been tossing around in my head.

Anyone else have any "equipment" pics to post? BTW, please keep it "on topic" and about chondros, LOL...
