Rolo,
Are those Repti-racks? Very nice cages you have and the perches look great. What kind are they? |

Yes they are Jeff. The perches are real wood from my local park. I debark, bleach, and stain to add a little personal touch.

Very cool cages Rolo, what do you use to stain the wood? I have been looking for something toxic free to stain the ones I got as well..

I have a friend that gave me some of the toxic free natural wood stain he uses. I believe he buys it in a 5 gallon container and I think I remember it being called Timbersoy, but I am not sure. Rolo |

Nice touch on the perches...may have to do the same.
Repti-racks are awesome IMO!!!!!! I've been using them for over a year now and plan on using them exclusively from here on out. |

Rolo, I'm curious as to whether there is anything specifically different about these cage designes compared to your ETB set ups? Basically, do you believe
they require different set-ups?
thanks Stuart |

Stuart...I think the biggest difference from a Basin to a Chondro, in the short time I have worked with them, I feel Chondos in gereral are a more tempermental animal as compared to a Basin; therefore, I would recommend more seclusion for a Chondro. I would not recommend an acrylic cage for a Chondro. But, this is just my opinion and there will always be animals that do well in almost anything you put them in, and others, that no matter what you provide for them, will always make you work for what you desire this animal to do. Stuart...there is one animal in each one of those cages in the picture. I don't think that it's a coincidence that you cannot see them.
If it was one of my Basins, I wouldn't be surprised if it was right on the front branch looking straight out. Even if I covered this acrylic cage with plants, this animal would posture right where she is now.

Nice Rolo. Love the setups. I've got to put more greenery in the tub I set up for that surprise chondro buy. He's at least perching now.

Rolo, sorry for not getting back to you. I made the mistake of emailing you from work and the message was instantly buried!
These cages look very nice! After my digging, I found these to be the best available cages. Definitely on the long list of things to do. Are they holding up well for you? |

Milmoe...it has only been a month, but I think they are excellent cages. These are HDPE.
