For the past week or two, my Aquaboy x Six male has been pretty much destroying his enclosure with his cruising. I have never seen this with this male,
especially at the beginning of summer. He went off feed at the same time he started cruising like this.
Ken informed me that the curator of the reptiles at the San Antonio Zoo introduces males to his females every summer without cycling, and he has eggs every
December. I decided to try this evening and put the male with an aru female of mine. I didn't know whether to expect a blood bath or what.
Within 5 minutes:
After about 45 minutes:
Sorry the pictures are crappy, but he was pretty territorial. This male has never acted like this in the past 4 or so yrs, and the female has never been so
reciprocative to a male this quickly either. I am not sure what to think or expect. I know that people have had success without cycling, so we'll
see...................

Your aqua6 boy sure sounds like he is on a testosterone rage, guess the female noticed it too. Let us know how long it takes for him to calm down.

i guess you could say that. weve had some rain/storms here, off and on for the past 3 weeks or so. there might be something to it then. only day 3 now, and
they've copulated the past 2 nights. i'm not doing any kind of cycling, so the male is cycling himself. during the day he goes down to the ground and
lays on the end of the cool side. then at night, he goes back up and copulates. very interesting that these guys seem to know whats going on, and how and to
behave, without any "man made" help.

Definitely keep us updated on their progess. I also have a male that goes off feed and cruises all night this time of year. I was considering a similiar
"experiment" next year when the female I plan to pair him with puts on some more weight.
