As for the yellow neo, I believe I can answer that based on our theory that red is dominant and yellow is recessive. Rico's male produced yellow offspring with the last female he was paired with, which means he is a "het" for carrying the ability to throw yellow offspring. The Dam is from Grasshopper x Bluebird. I would highly venture to guess based on the pics I have seen that Bluebird was a yellow neo. Yes every animal from the Grasshopper x Bluebird clutch was a red neo, however they would all be "het" for yellow if Bluebird was a yellow neo. So if the Dam's entire clutch was red, but het for yellow and we know from Rico's male's last clutch that he is "het" for throwing yellow, then it makes perfect sense that two "hets" would throw apx 25% yellow offspring. I am just surprised there is only one. (if they didn't all hatch, were there any other yellows Rico?) However, it doesn't always work out to the supposed percentage. I know of dog litters that were all one sex, sometimes the odds work out a little different.

Mr. Blue himself is most likely a homozygous for throwing red only, as well as many of his offspring. I also believe our male to be homozygous for throwing red only. Greg Stephen's male is most likely a homozygous also as he threw all reds when bred to a yellow neo Aru female as well as the clutch he produced with him this year was with a yellow neo female. If any animals from the MB x Carolina clutch, such as Rico's male, are able to throw yellow offspring would mean that Carolina must have been a het for yellow.

Mike, again in your case the male could have definitely been a red. If he was a het for throwing yellow and the female is het for throwing yellow, then you would have had apx 25% yellow. (Which was the case in that clutch correct?)
