Thanks all y'all ... This one was extremely 'ouchie' because of who it was. I've had a number of snakes die, but Eddie was.. Eddie.
He's an irreplaceable Chondro. I am incredibly nervous about the eggs now... I hope that I can get at least one good egg, and hatch it out. Would love to see his legacy live on. Thanks again

That is sad. It is always hard to lose an animal, but it is especially hard to watch them die. I have been there and I know how you feel.
