Yes, he was a sweet lookin Basin. Unfortunately, he now resides in my freezer with a few other high end animals.
It sucks when an animal that special isn't around long enough to reproduce.

No, no offspring. But the semi bright side is that I have a female half-sib that is at Rolando's (Frols) and, though she is not blue like the male, her
colors are not normal.

Brett...for some reason I thought it was a full sib. You can definitely see that there is a resemblance. I saw the original dam at Buddy & Erin's
place. She did have a very nice color and did seem to have a tendency to throw out some interesting colors. Hopefully it will work out dude. Not sure about
this year yet, but definitely next year she should be good to go; Hopefully!

It may very well be a full sib but the documentation is non-existant. My male and female were all produced by BG in late 2000 (along with your female with the big lats). The same males were used in all 3 projects and judging by her color I wouls say the male and female were half-sibs at least. As you know, I have seen my share of Basins and have never seen another with these colors. Yes, the male was the nicer that the female but you have to admit, that female is not normal looking. No...it is not normal; although the word normal is quite ambiguous...
 But I know what you mean!
Although, there have been some other Blue Basins out there, or at least as close to blue as you can get, this is the only bloodline that I know of that has been able to throw out a resemblance to blue. We'll see... Ro |
