It looks a bit like a burn or scrape.

Weird, that looks like gray paint. I've never seen that before.
How long ago did you get him? When was he imported? Is he on feed? His body mass looks like a fasting male... or having some issues. More background on him, please

I also thought of a burn when I first looked at it. Was it imported? I haven't seen anything lik ethat before but who knows...
If the animal is feeding, perching, and acting normal, then I wouldn't sweat it too much. Watch it over the next couple of weeks and see what the body language is. Or for peace of mind....take it to a reptile vet. If it were me, I'd wait till it shed again and take pictures like you did recently and compare the two. But thats just me... |

Burn huh? weLL i put the lamp outside the cage. I don't know if he can get burned but who knows.
Hmmm...he didn't have that "pattern" before, so it's kinda weird to see him like that. Bout his background: He just ate 1 big mouse last friday, no big deal bout feeding. He perched normally, well few days ago he was on the ground only bout 2 days but he now gets back on perch. He just defecated yesterday. I've had him for 2 months now. He wasn't imported, since GTPs are local snakes at where i'm from (indonesia) Is he too skinny for you guyz? He never miss any feeding and eat normally every week, but i only give him 1 mouse. Thanks ^^ |

I think he looks in good weight. Mine look something like that. I don't feed so frequently since I experienced a prolapse. They are fed every 10-14 days
now. If it's a wildcaught animal though, it might have some parasites.

Hi:
I am not a vet or anything. So you may want to clear every thing I am about to suggest by a vet. I don't think that is a burn. I have run into something similar to that. It could very well be some type of shed that did not come of completely and had left a discoloration because the dead/dry shed absorbing bactiera from misc. decaying items in the cage. Also it may have absorbed some kind of bacteria from feces/water, dirt in mulch, etc.. Either way, I used a light topical antibiotic ointment that cleared up the discoloration and/or possible infection and the scales regenerated to the original coloration fairly quickly. I think it is called "Silver Sulfadiazine Creme 1% 20gm" is what I had been prescribed by my vet. He instructed me to use a little bit of water on a Q-tip to cleanse the discoloration prior to each application. These is to clean out the area a little or anything present and any residual creme from previously applications. Again, I am not sure if this is your situation. I would recommend discussing it with a vet first. Good Luck. -Carlos |
