It should be fine......Normally you should shoot for a perch the same diameter as the animal, in this case the one you have is a bit too big but if that's the one it wants to use then let it be...just as long as your offering both choices...........my experience has been that different animals have different preferences.....some gravitate toward the thin perches some toward the fat ones..........I would not offer anything larger than that one and make sure you always leave in a thinner alternative.... the coat hanger may be a little too thin, tough to fully gage animal size from the pictures.....I'm a big fan of wooden dowls wrapped in black electrical tape and I'm an even bigger fan of flexible jungle vines for juveniles (you can get those at most pet shops)...... Nice animal by the way, great color tone and heavy markings............
