For those who also enjoy turtles...
The background: I love that my job includes teaching kids about how technology can benefit wildlife. We've been working on a semester long Eastern box
turtle tracking project with the entire class of 60 6th graders from a local middle school. It's taken up a lot more time than expected but it's been
rewarding, despite the fact that one of our turtles was run over by construction in the surrounding area. That tragic event is actually what ended up making
this project more rewarding for us because the kids became a lot more invested in the project - prompting them to contact local papers and the University to
save this last remaining stand of undisturbed green space in our area.
