1. What tool would you use to make a slit at the top of a tub, a small slit that you can slide the probe wire down into.

2. If you are a maniac and you drilled a 9/16th hole into a tub that you want to use because it has installed removeable perches in it, then you realized that is sort of a big hole. How would you seal it?

Small tipped soldiering iron...also great for making holes in tubs without the worry of cracking.
For filling a hole, tape the outside and place a dab of 100% silicone on the inside and smear around the hole, wait 48 hours and peel away the tape.

Although the soldiering iron works well, I prefer a step drill or what some call a uni-bit. A conical shaped drill bit with different diameters. They are sharp and I have never cracked a tub......not even the thin polycarb tubs. The process leaves a smooth evenly cut hole and you don't have those nautious fumes to deal with. The key is to keep the drill on a low speed.
