I could see how that'd be the case in a small enclosure. However I thought that Shiloh's article using the thermal imaging showed a pretty good
gradient in the enclosures he's using. I'm sure he could put some pics up.

I voted Pro-Products because that is what i use in my chondro enclosure. I use the Desert Rays in my JCP enclosure, it is mounted to the glass on the outside,
with reflective material and styrofoam on the back (as per included instrucions) to direct all the heat into the enclosure. I have not had an issue with either
product.

I voted other.
I built my own using scrap pvc for the frame and three feet of flexwatt as the element, giving me 30 watts. . I put 1/2" foam reflective insulation board behind the element. If I remember correctly the units dims are about 13" x 10"x 1 1/2" thick. I have about $10 per unit in them |

I'm talking about thermal gradient from 85 down to 75 in a vision arboreal 28"x24"x24". My night temps go from 85 to 62 in the same
cage(winter)

I really like the flexwatt along the back of the cages Greg. At only a few dollars per foot, this would seem to be the most economical of all. Have you tried
backing it up with reflective foam board instead of the clear sheet?
