My chondro died today for no reason. She ate two weeks ago, I mist her daily, havent heard any wheezing. She grounded herself a few days ago and I couldnt
figure out why and whatever it was killed her. Any advice on why. My temp is 88 and night of 81. She was almost two years old.

A necropsy is always worth the cost. Sorry for your loss, this species is difficult at best.

Yeah, sadly it's just the nature of the beast... we all have to deal with it at one time or another

88 is slightly on the warm side, but I doubt that's the problem. Sometimes they just die. Sorry for your loss.

That's really unfortunate. Meg, what exactly did you mean by 88 being slightly on the warm side? I'm not sure I agree that 88 is getting into any sort
of gray or iffy area as far as the basking spot so long as there is a gradient. While I'll be the first to say that chondros are not smart, they aren't
going to perch under a hot spot of 88 if instinctively it doesn't suit them and there is a more suitable temp zone available.

Hey Meg... When I was as Maxwell's house for Cfest a few years ago he had his basking spot at 90... Temp read 90 and thermostat setting was 90...
Hey Ryan... What kind of cage did you use? Pic? Really sorry about the loss... Seems like these guys just die sometimes for no rhyme or reason... The worst thing is a lot of the time there is no notice...

Thanks guys. It is crittercondos. I dont have a pic right now but you can look on their website. They are similar to pvc cages. It was 4x2x2.

Hey Ryan, I'm sorry to hear about Sly... I know you took great care of her. Unfortunately there are many things that could have been the cause of her
premature death, so without a necropsy it would just be a shot in the dark to guess why. Give me a call if you still have my number. If you don't have it,
shoot me an email with your number and I'll call you.
