Tags for unknown lineage animals? |

I'm curious how you all tag your animals from unknown lineage. For example, I have (had) a female that was supposed to be from a reputable breeder, but
have no documents and a male that was purchased as long term captive. I want to give them a reference tag for tracking purposes, but want to know if there is a
standard method for this.

good question actually...i have no idea as far as the animal with no documentation. id love to know as well. as far as the long term captive goes, i always
just put wc-01(or whatever number you have got from that yr)-what year it was supposed to have been born in, so for example wc-01-08.

Thanks Sony, I appreciate your input. I've been using LTC, but WC seems more appropriate. Perhaps even the word WILD would be better, to avoid confusion if
a breeder with those initials uses WC? Anyone else have any input?
So far, for the undocumented animal, I've just used UK for unknown. I'm guessing eventually (maybe even currently) that abbreviation will be a breeders initials. I'm trying to avoid any confusion when I add these animals to the lineage database on iHerp since the info will not be editable once uploaded. Thanks in advance,
