Egg help a little OT

I was hoping someone could give me some advice. I did the same thing last year with these eggs and these have "wet" spots on the bottom. So i put down the grate(as seen in first pic). It has been 3 days since i put the grate in. Now they are not sitting on the vermiculite/perlite mixture. They are starting to mold a little, still have bad "wet" spots on them but the rest of the egg looks great. Any help or advice or anything would be great. I know there are other forums that deal with ball pythons but i respect this group of peoples opinions far more than the other forums. Thanks.

I've never had that happen and I always use that mix for bp eggs. The mix could have been too wet or too shallow I suppose, or the eggs themselves could be going bad naturally. Nothing you can do at this point but let it go the course. I've had "wet/windowed/ect." ball eggs go full term with limited success. Good luck.

sounds a bit weird but I had some eggs start to mold on me last yr and since I figured I was going to lose them anyway I tried some athletes foot spray on them (Tinactin)

leaves a powdery white dust on them, but it ended up saving a few ....just my .02

I had some Diamond eggs start wicking water and doing the same things two years ago. Try placing them on a saucer, like from a flower pot to create a barrier. I think the water level was too close to the grid when I had this problem.

I think Eddie is on the money here. It looks to me that the saucer would work or add a spacer under your egg crate so that the eggs are a little higher above the substrate.

I had this happen in chondro eggs. The egg becomes hypertonic opposed to the vermiculite/perilite mix. Egg swells from the water concentration being greater on the inside and osmosis releases the water. The saucer should correct the problem, but the spots will remain. My chondro eggs became almost completely transparent and still produced nice neos.
