I'm hoping you all can help me make a descision about a gravid female chondro of mine. Here's her timeline: September 19th - last meal October 10 -
shed October 13 to February 18 copulation with male #1. After mid February, this first male seemed to lose interest. Since I had not seen an ovulation, I
decided to pull him and add another male. March 4 to April 5 copulation with male #2. March 17 - shed. yes, March 17. Not April 17. I thought this may have
been a pre-lay shed. I marked the calendar, but early April came and went with no eggs and no real interest in her egg box. I had been carefully palping the
snake all along. Finally, mid-April I finally felt what I was certain were eggs. I got a little concerned and took her to the vet for an X-ray. The x-ray
revealed 14-16 eggs. The vet seemed to think they looked fine. He said that the snake had clearly already ovulated but that the eggs looked like the shells
weren't fully calcified. He estimated another 30 days or so util they were ready to be laid. This was on April 19. Since Mid-April she has been in and out
of the nest box. She'll go in for two to three days and then perch for two to three. She drinks pretty regularly. Male #1 is back in the cage with her
(mostly because of a shortage of cage space) but he is showing no interest. Nor does he appear to be stressing her out at all. My original plan was to give her
until May 18 to go through a pre-lay shed (assuming she ovulated around the time we went to the vet). Now, I'm not so sure. I'm beginning to think she
may have retained unshelled, infertile ova. My question is, should I give her more time or plan on having a surgery done? How does this sound to everyone? Any
advice is much appreciated. if you need any additional info to form an opinion please ask. Thanks a lot everybody
