Today when I was feeding my Chondro I noticed her gums looked red and irritated when she began to swallow. She also had what looked like a red blood blister in
the inner corner of her mouth(size of her eye). Something is definitely wrong in her mouth. Her teeth which normally are very visible and white when she is
swallowing seemed absent all together or just embedded in the sightly swollen and irritated looking gums. Despite all of this she did eat today. It had been a
few weeks since her last feeding. Overall she has seemed less active this past month. Visually from the outside she looks totally fine. Typically she is posed
to hit anything that goes near her tank but like I said this past month she has been pretty quiet. She repositions herself around the cage every day like
normal but she is definitely not the aggressive(in her tank) alert snake that she was just a month ago. Anyhow...any ideas? What actions should I take?

How old is the snake? What type of enclosure are you keeping the animal in? There are a lot of things that could be causing this. I would make sure that you
have the temperatures right and if have a large enough enclosure that you are providing a heat gradient, increase the warm end a few degrees as often cold
blooded animals will go to hotter than normal temps to create a natural fever. Also make sure that there is enough air flow moving through the cage. It should
not be constantly wet and should dry out between mistings, about every 1-2 days. Last thing is look at the water source. What type of container is it?
Sometimes with decorative rock style containers, the surface is so rough that it is hard to clean. Make sure the water is changed daily.

Thank you Nick for taking the time to help me.
The snake is almost 3yrs. old (CBB). Cage is 2ft. cube with heat panel thermostat ( from Jim Sharpton...spelling?) that is kept at 86 degrees.Very nice set up. I do spray the tank but never over saturate it and always allow it to dry out. If anything I'm thinking I should mist it more. I have a somewhat smooth plastic water container. I could probably do better on water changes as it has been every few days as opposed to daily. A couple of months prior she did lose a tooth after snapping at my camera lens when I was taking pics of her. Perhaps after a month or two it became infected? Are there any actions I should take immediately? Watch out for a particular thing? I'm not sure if there is a qualified vet in my area...I'm in the Northern Michigan boonies. Do the symptoms sound somewhat common and curable with some TLC?

could be an infected broken tooth...can you get her mouth open to see? probably damaged it on the camera lense...I'll call you tomorrow. peace man..keep

Today she seems back on the alert. When I put my hand in to change the water she was following every movement of my hand and such. I had to trick her when I
reached in for the bowl. Definitely acting more normal. I'm just so bothereed knowing that inside her mouth didn't look so good. I''m worried
that opening her mouth might cause her stress. I gave her a decent size rat yesterday but she is a pig and would easily take a mouse in the next day or so. I
could feed her again and take pics when her mouth is opened. I tried yesterday but I couldn't find my camera in time.
