Lets say you have no incubator and your female lays eggs... Then decides either not beehive or only manages to beehive a few of the eggs... Assuming your temps are all in order in the egg box...
Comments are welcome
(they are not my eggs)

Here is a situation question:
Lets say you have no incubator and your female lays eggs... Then decides either not beehive or only manages to beehive a few of the eggs... Assuming your temps are all in order in the egg box... Comments are welcome (they are not my eggs) What would you do? (Result)

I'd spend the time and money to have all the parts needed to put together a cooler-type incubator (I used Damon's plans). I'd overnight all parts
that I couldn't buy locally. If I wasn't savvy enough to build it myself i'd hit the pavement trying to find somebody who could help me.

1.) ad hoc an "incubator"... all you "technically" need is 87.5 and humid
2.) IME when mom abandons "some" eggs, she knows the score get the eggs as close to 87.5 and 90% humid and hope for the best.

I know it's not an option but I agree with David. Anf I would do it QUICK!
btw, My most recent hatch involved 2 eggs kicked from Mom's beehive, both of which hatched. Don't count them out Aaron.

Thermostat or dimmer switch, heat tape or pad, tub, Igloo cooler. You could probably acquire all the materials with a quick trip to Ace Hardware.

I hatched my first clutch in a hobavator. I would put a quality thermostat on it and keep it in a room with a stable temp. This should provide a good chance
at hatching the clutch. However, I would suggest that for the next clutch the incubator should be set up a month or so in advanced to allow a little peice of
mind.

Doesn't Brandon Osborne still use a Hobovator?

If the cage, in which has the nest box keeps stable temps, why not leave them in? I don't remember where but I heard of someone on this forum doing it more
than once and having great success with it.

I'm with Aaron. I would "cook" up an incubator fast and hope for the best. Sometimes nature will amaze you...

im with aaron as well, 87.5 and humid is all you need, TILL you finish building, buying, or borrowing a more reliable set up.
also, Jason, i dont know if he uses them for gtp eggs, but ive hatched out well over 1000 reptiles with them. i do know brandon has an account with a yellow highlighter company though... wierd kinda... -justin |

Justin-
If "something" was able to be set to 87.5 and maintained humid, wouldn't that BE an incubator?
