I just had a quick question. I have noticed in the past two weeks my 4 year old female is hanging her head sideways in her coils, with only one eye out. She
has always kept a typical posture before this and I was wondering if anyone with a little more experience may have seen this as an early symptom of something I
should treat?

In my experience loose coils and not perching is reason to investigate... Based on what you said I think your critter is just hiding his head...

In my experience loose coils and not perching is reason to investigate But these animals lose and break teeth quite frequently and finding a problem early vs later is always better. So you can always do a quick visual inspection of the mouth, while restraining the animal which may require two people. You can also listen for RI related noise's while you have the mouth open to make sure that all is well. FYI if you see the animal rubbing its lips on the perches or walls of the cage while cruising, applying pressure to the lips frequently by pushing on the perches, or if the lips on either side seem out of place or swollen. It is a good idea to check things out and most often if minor issues are caught early enough little to no treatment should be needed. Just my 2 cents.

Thank you for your help. A few days ago she went into shed. She had a rough one, so I think she may be a little bit dehydrated. I also think that because she
was dehydrated she was a bit constipated. Since I noticed it she seemed dehydrated yesterday I got her in a more humid cage with a hopefully more noticable
water bowl. She shed and defacated over night. To tie all of this to the question, I think maybe she was just resting her head differently because she was
uncomfortable.
