had a quick question on the probe depth of female
all of the literature that i have read says that females will have a probe depth of around 2 to 3 subcaudal, and male as low as 7 and as high as 12 subcaudals. i went through and was sexing my yearlings only wanting to keep females, i am male heavy. i had two snake probe a depth that was inbetween what i have read. the two that i know that are male had a depth of 9 and 10 subcauduals. the other two, a manokwari and another merauke, one had a depth of 4 and 5 subcaudauls (manokwari) and 5 and 6 (merauke). right and left side depths. i want to keep them if they are females.
at this depth, are they "deeper" female of "short" males????
or do i need to put some size on the two "females" and sex them again. they are both around 140 grams as of today (25 march).
if the merauke is a female, i will keep the male, i posted him on the classifieds today, so i can have a pair of meraukes.
