I've been bitten several times by my GTP, kinda wonder tho, does it hurt worse than a bite from a Boa constrictor?
I've never had boa constrictors before and of course never been bitten by them. Is it worse or more painful than GTPs' bites?

One more thing by the way, I'm just curious. I have a GTP for a month and he hasn't shed yet. Do you guyz have any pics of opaque pre-shed GTPs' eyes?
I have king and milk snake, but i just don't know if GTPs work the same. Thanks ^^

Well one time i got bit by a Boa who was only like 4 months old and it drew blood and got a tooth stuck in me. I was holding over supervision of the pet store employee and they started freaking out. And also my friend has a 6 ft. Boa that bit him in the shoulder and he said honestly it wasnt as bad as he thought. But ive heard people say adult female chondros have the bite of a 16 ft Burm. Hope this might give you a better solution.

i have both types of snakes and you can really feel the diference when you get bitten, ill take some pics of the fangs of two snakes that are the same size and show them (when i have some free time)

When i was bitten by my chondro, it felt like my finger was cut with a cutter. It was a pure defensive bite so it happened fast and no hold, guess that hurt less huh ^^
I'm just curious bout the bite from a boa constrictor compared to a GTP. Thanks a lot ratzinger ^^

BTW, my chondro just shed and i didn't realize he was going through a pre-shed moment. I just found this morning his shed skin lying on the perch and the good thing was he shed successfully in one piece. What a relieve.
I really didn't know if he was going to shed since i kept looking at the eyes and didn't found any kind of opaque eyes like king or milksnakes. So i just kept my daily misting schedule like usual ^^

Forum super duper Ultra Chondro!

It's been a while since I've been bitten; however, last week during feeding, one of my adult carpet pythons got hold of the meaty part of my hand right at the base of the thumb. It was a feeding response, and she bit, constricted and held on for several minutes until I held her head underwater in the sink. It didn't feel "good", but was not the same as a gtp bite. IMO, a bite from a small gtp hurts more than one from a large carpet. The worst is when you are assist feeding and one of the little #%&*ers gets squarely ahold of the tip of your finger and bites down. Carpets may bite with a bit more pressure but don't have the tooth length to inflict that sharp pain.

Have not been bit by an etb yet, but I imagine they would be even worse.

As long as they don't wrap and constrict I would take a bite from a boa anyday over a bite from a green tree. Now if you really want to talk about some pain let a 4 foot south american false water cobra chew on your thumb for a couple of minutes. That hurt worse than any other bite I have ever experienced and after working in the reptile dept. at a pet store for 4 years I have been bit by more things than I care to remember. That damn water cobra put me in intensive care for 2 freakin days and six and a half years later my right hand is still swolen and noticeably bigger than my left.

So u did get swelling huh? How did u get that cobra bite? I assume that one must be venomous rite >.<
Wow sounds scary to be bitten by cobras.

I heard that boas teeth are curved inward. Does that happen at GTPs' teeth?
Never seen my GTPs' teeth actually. Hope i can take shots of those teeth sometimes

I was showing the water cobra to a potential buyer and when I went to put him back in the cage he spun to the right hella fast and nailed me. The false water cobra's are rear fanged and mildly venomous but when he chews on you for a couple of minutes he worked that rear fang in me pretty good.

As far as I know all constrictors have teeth that are curved backwards. The green trees front teeth are longer than the boas due to them usually catching prey in the wild while they are hanging around on a branch of some kind. They have to have longer front teeth so they can hold on to the prey better.
