of course that still all depends on who is making the racks/cages...

he says hes been working with them for a while. maybe i will see if he can send me some pictures or i will run some numbers by him to see what prices are.

i agree. hc-pvc cages if built correctly are probably the strongest and nicest cages out there. just ask HS!

Hollow core PVC is more like large plastic cardboard. If you look at a cross-cut of corrugated cardboard you will see a rippled zone in the middle sandwiched between the two flat surfaces that make the sides. The H-C PVC looks the same in a cross-cut, but much thicker. It is quite sturdy when constructed properly. Very high quality caging can be made from this material, but the quality...

I'm no wiz at this but they do seem like hollow plastics, PVC, whatever (more like plastics)... Like the toy furnitures we had when we were kids. In my experience (if that is the material I'm thinking of), they are not very sturdy, and will crack under certain loads, if it gets hit or if dropped and can melt or soften when heated. Hollowed PVC, anything hollow will require more space in order to hollow it out. Leaving places to get dirty, moldy, infected with pests or...

he had an ad up on KS and i believe it was 11 6qt tubs (what looked like 6qt anyway) high and about 5 or 6 wide for $800 with heat either attached to the back wall or belly heat. it doesnt say whether or not the belly heat is actually inside the shelves or if it is attached to the top of each shelf. although 6qt would be smaller than i need the height and width would be idea just with cambro tubs in stead of the rubbermaids. maybe its worth a call i would just rather find out about it here if...

i love the look of the habitat systems racks and cages, but could never get around the price. i just noticed this guy on KS classifieds and was wondering if anyone here has used/purchased this guys racks or cages.

i googled the cage company name and couldn't find a website associated with him. he says hes on faunaclassifieds in the BOI section but i find that the BOI is entirely too difficult to sort...
