As for Delta Dash, it seems to be the safest alternative (providing the temps are right in the plane), but it's an hour to the airport from where I live...and the price keeps jumping. Fed Ex seems to be pretty consistent, but I've never used them before. That box was probably 14 x 11 z 10. I sent out the same size box this morning with Delta... $111.00! I'm in the process of setting up FedEx and just got my packaging approved this afternoon. For the heck of it I calculated what the shipping would have been with my FedEx account and it was around $55! Amazing, I can't wait to start using them.

UP here, we now pay $4/gal + for gas at the pump, with some other communities paying $7 and $8 per gal. I'm sure rising fuel costs are adding to Delta's rate increases.

With that said, while there is no "perfect shipper", I left Delta two years ago and I've never looked back.
I was a huge fan of Delta until my 10th+ package got lost while connecting in Atlanta.

I exclusively ship FedEx now. You can ship legally, rates are substantially less than Delta's, and in most case; they'll ship door to door.
