I have received confirmation from one of the promoters that the Cutting Edge Conference that was scheduled for Thurs and Fri prior to the Reptile Super Show has been canceled and will be planned for next year. Some of the scheduled speakers will be holding talks during the Reptile Show over the weekend at no extra charge to attendees. I am really bummed as I was looking forward to expanding my general reptile/herp knowlege and meeting new people. I know that the combined efforts of all...

Excellent Nancy!! I hope that you'll be able to attend the conference too. Have you looked into any hotels in the area yet? Might be worth it to go inland just a bit away from downtown to get a much better room rate. My husband is going to be down for the show on Sat/Sun and I was thinking of getting a room for Saturday evening... thought it might be a place to hang around for awhile to unwind a bit too.

I'll be vending there too - I'm really looking forward to it!! I'd love to attend the conference part if I can. Hotels are pretty expensive close to the show, though, so we'll see. I wish they would put a schedule of the talks up on the site - that would help with planning.

I picked up a "T-Rex Herp Gazette" at LLL a couple of weeks ago and found some more info on the conference there. It's also going to be held at the Concourse, the same site as the show. Registration is $125 Spouses/Partners $100 which include icebreaker Wed evening and two days of conferences and entrance to the show for the weekend.

I love the idea of more good local shows, once a year is not enough! I'm betting we'll have a pretty good turnout this year!

Well this sounds pretty darn cool. I'll definitely keep this weekend open. I would also love to hear Kamuran's speach. Is he speaking Thursday and Friday? It would be great to have another show in So Cal worth going to.

Cathy, you can count me in....well for Sunday anyway. I will just be getting back from a vacation in Florida so I won't be there Saturday, but Sunday I will definitely stop by and say hello...Looks like a good show. I can't wait...

For any of the local folks that haven't already made plans for the weekend of June 28/29 the Reptile Super Show is being held this year at the "Concourse" in San Diego. It's just been all redone and is a very nice convention center right downtown very close to everything. I'm going to be there all weekend and have a table there, for any locals that would like to get together after the show Saturday evening I'd love to get together with everyone and toss a few...
