I never used my homemade vine in a snake terrarium, but I used them in frog terrariums with water running down them at times. After enough use, some of the
peat may wear off, but the silicone holds pretty tight and they can alwyas be touched up (when thoroughly dried first!) and reused. Again, hardened silicone is
completely benign and peat is equally safe. Seabass

this doesn't exactly make bio-vine, but it's a good generic alternative a good friend taught me for using in frog terrariums: Start with a coated wire,
or wrap several together, add twine if you want to get the desired thickness. Then coat all of it liberally with brown silicone and rub it all down with dry
peat moss before the silicone hardens. Again, it's not exactly bio-vine, but it looks really naturalistic and there is no danger with dry silicone or peat.
Hope it helps! Seabass

Brian,

Have you had any problems with the dark, soft textural coating on the BioVine crumbling off sometimes? I tried them with a few animals when they first came
out and there were always little bits of stuff coming off and winding up on the cage bottom. Obviously having the stuff on the cage floor isn't a big deal,
but I was always worried that bits might be ingested during feeding, or drinking if any wound up in the water bowl. Since the pieces looked and felt rubbery, I...
